We are currently seeking a Seasonal Site Surveyor to join our team. This position is ideal for a motivated, self-driven individual who enjoys working independently, interacting with customers, and contributing to the successful planning and execution of fiber optic installations.
Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Site Manager, the Seasonal Site Surveyor will be responsible for conducting site surveys, gathering information required for fiber optic installations, developing installation plans, and communicating with customers and installation teams to ensure projects are completed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Survey residential and commercial sites to develop fiber optic installation plans.
- Collect detailed site information, measurements, photos, and notes.
- Prepare design sketches and conduit pathway layouts for installation teams.
- Meet with property owners and customers to explain the fiber installation process.
- Schedule and attend customer appointments.
- Communicate design requirements and installation details to field crews.
- Complete spreadsheets, reports, and documentation related to site surveys.
- Ensure accurate and complete records are maintained.
- Provide exceptional customer service and represent FTC Innovation professionally.
- Adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by management.
Compensation
This is a piece-rate position, with compensation based on completed site surveys and deliverables. Surveyor is required to provide and maintain their own reliable vehicle for daily travel between assigned work locations. A vehicle allowance/mileage reimbursement will be provided in accordance with company policy.
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Must own and maintain a reliable vehicle suitable for daily travel between job sites.
- Ability to provide proof of valid vehicle insurance and registration.
- Comfortable driving to multiple locations throughout the workday.
- Some experience in telecommunications, fiber optics, construction, utility locating, surveying, or related industries is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Fluent in English.
- Criminal Record Check required.
