Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Service Manager to lead our Service Department. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of fire alarm systems across multiple sites. Your expertise will ensure compliance with safety standards and codes, while your leadership will drive efficiency and excellence within the team. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the testing, inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems in accordance with local codes and industry standards with your team.
- Lead a team of technicians by providing training, guidance, and performance feedback to ensure quality work and safety compliance
- Manage scheduling of service calls, inspections, and system upgrades to meet client needs efficiently using software-based program for scheduling and time sheets.
- Maintain detailed documentation of service activities, system configurations, test results, and compliance records
- Provide support in procuring parts required for projects and service calls.
- Contribute to general duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in fire alarm system service or related electrical/mechanical fields with a focus on low voltage systems
- Possess previous experience in customer service, with dispatching experience considered essential.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train and supervise technicians effectively
- Preferred qualifications include construction experience involving fire safety systems or building infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of ULC standards, Ontario Fire Code and Building codes related to fire alarm systems is highly desirable.
- A valid certification in fire alarm systems (CFAA) is a plus.
- Ability to communicate in English both verbal and written.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Previous Fire Alarm/Fire Protection industry experience is an asset but not essential.
- Effective communicator with all levels of customers, staff and management.
- Excellent ability to think critically and problem solve.
- Solid customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to meet customers needs.
- Must have exceptional organizational skills, willing to learn.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
