Job Description: We are seeking an enthusiastic Estimator to join our team in Saint John, NB. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architectural specialties and a keen eye for detail. As an Estimator working for a sub-contractor, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for various projects, based on your complete understanding of the project scope. The opportunity is open to any applicant that can demonstrate specific experience with architectural specialties and estimating.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regularly review publications, project databases, and online platforms to identify and track potential project / bidding opportunities.
- Analyze project plans and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to gather necessary information.
- Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
- Prepare and present cost summaries and proposals to clients.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and pricing.
- Assist in the development and implementation of cost control strategies.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience within the architectural specialties industry.
- Previous experience with bathroom accessories & partitions, lockers, operable walls, access hatches is considered an asset but not prerequisite.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials handling, and cost control.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (comfortable to make phone calls and deal with people outside of the organization daily).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
