Casual Childcare Support Staff Overview
Beeing Kidz Playcare Cafe is seeking compassionate, dependable, and flexible Casual Childcare Support Staff to join our growing team. This position assists in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children while supporting the daily operations of our childcare programs.
This role offers flexible, as-needed hours to assist with staffing coverage, program support, and special events. Ideal candidates will have a genuine passion for working with children and an interest in supporting early childhood development in a positive, play-based environment.
This is a casual/on-call position with no guaranteed weekly hours.
Duties
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities that encourage learning, creativity, and social development
- Assist with daily routines including meals, transitions, outdoor play, and rest periods
- Support children’s emotional, physical, and social well-being in a caring and respectful manner
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized childcare environment
- Provide support during staff absences, busy periods, and special programming days
- Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent care and positive communication
- Observe children’s behaviours and needs and communicate important information with staff when necessary
- Follow all childcare policies, health and safety procedures, and licensing regulations
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience working with children in a childcare, educational, recreational, or caregiving setting preferred
- Experience supporting children with diverse needs or disabilities is considered an asset
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Patient, nurturing, and dependable personality
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of child safety practices and early childhood development principles preferred
- First Aid & CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Clean Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks
