We’re looking for a Finance Controller, to join our head office located in Vernon, British Columbia. Our head office houses Tolko’s corporate services groups including Sales, Marketing & Logistics, Finance, Accounting & Credit, IT, Procurement and Human Resources.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years’ of related industry experience.
- Accounting designation or equivalent certification.
- Demonstrated hands-on operational and corporate financial accounting skills.
- An excellent understanding of manufacturing and financial consolidation concepts is required.
- A strong team player with superior supervisory, analytical and interpersonal abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- An unwavering attention to detail and organization.
- The ability to manage multiple assignments and a commitment to providing excellence in customer service and support.
- A proven track record of leading teams and experience in the forest industry.
- Proficiency with Excel, JDE financial software, and Dynamics AX is a definite asset.

In this role, you will:
- Report financial information to Sr. Management while ensuring company policies, procedures and systems are adhered to.
- Provide supervision and employee development, with a focus on both individual and company needs.
- Ensure the required internal controls are in place for revenue recognition, expenditures, recording of transactions, and the safeguarding of assets.
- Develop, analyze and streamline financial information and recommendations to support management decision making, and both internal and external audits.
- Lead the way by maintaining, ensuring adherence to, and revising the corporate financial policies and procedures.
- Coordinate the development of annual consolidated operating budget for Tolko and its related subsidiaries.
