About the Opportunity
The Career Foundation is currently supporting an employer in Mississauga with the recruitment of an experienced Warehouse Shipping & Receiving Specialist.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced warehouse professional with strong shipping, receiving, inventory control, and forklift experience. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting material flow, and ensuring safe and efficient warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and unload incoming shipments using appropriate material handling equipment
- Operate both Counterbalance and Reach Truck forklifts
- Verify incoming shipments for product type, quantity, and condition
- Identify and report damaged or incorrect shipments and inventory discrepancies
- Accurately enter received quantities into the ERP system
- Organize and store inventory in the correct warehouse locations
- Restock picking areas and supply materials to production as required
- Move materials and finished goods throughout the warehouse
- Prepare shipping documentation, including waybills and bills of lading
- Coordinate and organize outbound shipments
- Safely load materials onto trucks
- Assist with inventory organization, bin maintenance, and cycle counts
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to improve efficiency
- Follow all health and safety policies and procedures
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse shipping and receiving
- Required: Hands-on experience operating BOTH Counterbalance and Reach Truck forklifts
- Strong understanding of inventory control and warehouse best practices
- Experience using ERP and/or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Experience with shipping and receiving documentation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
- Safety-focused and dependable
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and reach throughout the workday
