Canada–US Cross-Border Dispatcher

Job Summary
We are hiring an experienced Canada–US Cross-Border Dispatcher to manage daily freight movements in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
· Dispatch and assign loads to drivers and carriers
· Schedule pickups and deliveries to maximize efficiency
· Adjust loads in real time based on customer changes
· Ensure drivers are properly set up with required paperwork
· Manage delays, breakdowns, and border-related issues
· Maintain clear, consistent communication with drivers, customers, and internal team at all times
· Monitor shipments and provide timely updates
· Coordinate with customs brokers for smooth clearance
· Source, qualify, and onboard new carriers, including:
· Verifying valid operating authority (Canada/US as applicable)
· Confirming active insurance coverage meeting company requirements
· Reviewing safety ratings and compliance history
· Collecting and maintaining required onboarding documents (W9, carrier profile, insurance certificates, etc.)
· Ensuring carriers meet company service standards, equipment requirements, and pricing expectations
· Setting up carriers in internal systems and maintaining accurate records
· Build and maintain strong carrier relationships to secure service and competitive pricing
Requirements
· 2+ years dispatch or logistics experience (cross-border preferred)
· Strong knowledge of Canada–US operations
· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
· Strong communication and problem-solving skills
· Experience with dispatch systems, ELDs, and load boards

Pay: $38,500.00-$53,000.00 per year

- Toronto, ON: reliably commute or be willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (preferred)
