MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections at company-managed properties.
- Complete preventative maintenance programs and vacancy inspections.
- Diagnose and repair basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance issues.
- Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repairs in a timely manner.
- Assist with unit turnovers, including repairs and preparation for new occupants.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work and maintenance activities.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
- Work closely with Property Managers and the Maintenance Manager to prioritize and coordinate maintenance activities.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with tenants, contractors, and vendors.
- Perform additional maintenance-related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in property maintenance, building maintenance, construction, renovations, facilities maintenance, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building systems.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Customer-service-oriented with strong communication skills.
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Satisfactory driver's abstract and criminal record check.
- Ability to travel between multiple property locations.
- Availability to participate in an after-hours rotating on-call schedule.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Personal cell phone available for work-related communication.

Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday to Friday with participation in a rotating on-call schedule.
Location: Winnipeg and surrounding area
