Position: Registered Psychotherapist
Status: One (1) Permanent Full-Time
Program: Addiction Services
Initially assigned to: Residential and/or Supportive Treatment
Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, the Psychotherapist will provide trauma-informed, person-centered individual and group therapy to individuals accessing residential substance use services. This position is also responsible for developing group programming that aligns with best practice in substance use treatment and must complete clinical supervision.
Education and training:
· A University Degree in Counselling/Social Work/Nursing and Registration in good standing with a regulated College that governs the act of psychotherapy is required (OCSWSSW, CRPO, CNO) is required
· Possession of a designation as a certified Addiction counsellor (CAC11) or A (I.C.A.D.C.), is preferred
· Certification in or working knowledge of various therapeutic interventions and treatment modalities, ideally Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems
Requirements:
· A negative Police Vulnerable Sector Check
· Correctional Services Canada (CSC) Clearance or willingness to obtain
· A valid class G driver’s license and proof of insurance
· Daily access to a reliable vehicle
· Current First Aid and CPR required
· Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training or willingness to obtain
· Current Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) or willingness to obtain
· Able to lift at a minimum 20 lbs. from squatting to standing position
·* Participate in and successfully complete ongoing clinical supervision*
· Bilingualism (English/French) is required
Experience:
· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience providing individual and group psychotherapy to people living with serious and persistent substance use concerns and/or concurrent disorders
· Working knowledge of various therapeutic interventions and treatment modalities, ideally Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems
· Demonstrated experience in working with various group therapies and group interventions
· Demonstrated experience in working with individuals experiencing complex substance use and/or concurrent disorders
· Experience working in a community setting and demonstrated working knowledge of community resources
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
· Basic working knowledge of computer software
· Ability to work cooperatively and independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
· Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, with a working knowledge of Bill 68 inclusive of Community Treatment Orders, Residential Tenancy Act and the Health Care Consent Act
· Effective problem solving and decision-making skills
· Proficiency in managing challenging behaviours
· Excellent interpersonal/verbal/written communication skills.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality as per PHIPA (Personal Health Information Protection Act)
· Knowledge of Community Treatment Orders
· Knowledge of the DSM V as it relates to criteria for service
· Provide support to Team members according to administrative policies and employee needs
· Demonstrated ability to manage and meet deadlines

Days (7 hours/day; Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm); other hours as assigned by the Director.

French Language Services Required: One (1) position is Bilingualism (English/French) is required
