Job placements will be for both the Fort Garry and Bannatyne Campuses.
The durations of the positions may range from several hours to a few weeks or months.
Wage rates will be in accordance with Collective Agreement or University policy provisions.
MINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- Completion of a formal training program in a related administrative field from a recognized institution, or a post-secondary diploma or degree, is preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of one (1) year of directly related administrative experience is required
- Experience and working knowledge of internal systems, including HRIS, accounting and finance and e-procurement would be an asset
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Skills and abilities for this role may include:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), Microsoft 365, Adobe and other related software
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing administrative systems and procedures
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required
The University of Manitoba is seeking organized, self-motivated candidates to be on call for casual and temporary administrative positions. This position will serve as the backbone of our team, responsibilities include:
- Provides general office reception services
- Maintaining departmental filing system in electronic and/or paper formats
- Coordinates and organizes calendars for senior leaders, including Deans, Department Heads, and AVPs
- Assist in preparing meeting agendas, attend meetings, and record minutes
- Monitoring and responding to incoming emails for shared accounts
- Ensuring content on University-related webpages is up to date
- Ensuring shared office equipment is stocked with necessary supplies
- Assist in processing claims and creating reports
- Maintaining inventory of office supplies
- Coordinating room bookings for the department
- Scanning, printing, and photocopying documents
- Providing backup support for other office staff
- Performing other duties as assigned
