Job Summary
Skaha Lake Motels are a group of locally owned motels located just steps from Skaha Lake in Penticton. We’re a straightforward, hardworking team focused on providing clean, comfortable stays for our guests. Front Desk is a key part of our operation, especially during the summer season. We are looking for a reliable and professional Front Desk Clerk for our “Princess Shift” — a guest-facing role suited for someone who is organized, personable, calm under pressure, and enjoys working with people. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in customer service, presents themselves professionally, and works well as part of a team.
Duties
Reporting to the Management Team, the Front Desk Clerk plays an important role in maintaining guest satisfaction and overall property standards. Responsibilities include:
- Checking guests in and out using the motel booking system
- Answering phones, emails, and guest inquiries
- Processing payments and handling basic cash transactions
- Assisting guests with requests, directions, and local information
- Coordinating with housekeeping and maintenance teams regarding room status
- Monitoring reservations and updating guest information accurately
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the front desk and lobby areas
- Handling guest concerns professionally and escalating issues when necessary
- Following motel procedures, policies, and safety guidelines
- Other duties as required and within the capability of the employee, including assisting with laundry, housekeeping, and general motel operations during busy periods.
Skills
- Customer service or front desk experience an asset
- Comfortable using computers, phones, and booking systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during peak season
