BUS DRIVER - RURAL ROUTE - BIRCH HILLS AREA - TFT
(and/or other routes to be determined) (with the understanding that you are employed by the Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division)
HOURS OF WORK: 6 hours per day
SALARY: Year 1 - $89.51 per day plus km allowance Year 2 - $93.53 per day plus km allowance Year 3 - $97.58 per day plus km allowance
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
- Typically, the required knowledge, skills and abilities are obtained through successful completion of Saskatchewan Rivers Driver's Training Course.
- Must possess and maintain a valid “Class 1 – 5” driver's license with a School Bus Endorsement.
- Must possess and maintain a clean driver's abstract.
- Must have at least 3-5 consecutive years of unrestricted driving experience.
- Knowledge of and ability to operate within Board policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of and ability to operate within The School Bus Operating Regulations, 1987 and The Highway Traffic Act.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the use of standard techniques required for securing passengers in wheelchairs on the bus.
- Ability to read and write to maintain daily records.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all staff, students and the public demonstrating tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to conduct oneself in a manner appropriate to an educational institution that provides services to children including demonstrating strict attention to confidentiality of school operations and student information.
- It is a condition of employment that all candidates provide a criminal record check and a vulnerable sector check.
- Ability to fulfill any and all other duties as outlined in the job description.
