Overview
The HVAC Technician ensures the safe, reliable, and code-compliant installation, service, and maintenance of gas fireplaces, furnaces, heat pumps, and related HVAC systems. This role supports both residential and commercial clients by delivering high-quality workmanship, resolving technical issues efficiently, and providing excellent customer service in retrofit and new construction environments. Duties
- Install, service, and maintain gas fireplaces, gas piping, and ventilation systems.
- Perform retrofit installations in existing homes, ensuring safety, compliance, and minimal disruption.
- Work on new construction projects, coordinating with builders and trades to complete rough-in and final installation.
- Diagnose and repair technical issues related to gas appliances and systems.
- Possible participation in the scheduled on-call rotation for emergency service calls.
- Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
- Communicate clearly with customers and educate them on safe operation and routine maintenance.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
- Other duties as required.
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of sheet metal installation, venting systems, gas piping, and HVAC controls.
- Comfortable working in both retrofit and new construction environments.
- Proven problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Qualifications
- Valid Gas Technician 2 (G2) license
- 308A or 308R certification is preferred
- A 313D or 313A is an asset
- Minimum of 2 years experience in gas appliance installation, with a focus on fireplaces.
- Experience with gas & electric fireplace installations is preferred

Pay: $27.00-$40.00 per hour
