Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our retail establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive retail management experience, and a proven ability to drive sales and improve customer satisfaction. This role requires strategic planning, team supervision, and effective communication to ensure the store meets its financial and operational goals. The General Manager will be responsible for managing staff, optimizing merchandising strategies, and maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Duties
- Lead and supervise store staff, including hiring, training, and performance management
- Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets
- Oversee merchandising, pricing, and inventory management to maximize profitability
- Manage payroll, budgeting, and financial recordkeeping such as bookkeeping and cash handling
- Ensure excellent customer service by addressing customer concerns promptly and professionally
- Coordinate marketing initiatives to promote store products and services
- Conduct interviews for potential new hires and participate in recruiting efforts
- Monitor store operations to ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards
- Oversee POS systems, cashiering activities, and sales management processes
- Organize training & development programs to enhance team skills and productivity
- Manage purchasing decisions to maintain optimal stock levels while controlling costs
- Utilize organizational skills to streamline workflows and improve overall efficiency
- Maintain effective communication with staff, vendors, and upper management
Skills
- Strong leadership with supervising experience in a retail environment
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and phone etiquette skills
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for diverse customer engagement
- Proficiency in retail sales, sales management, marketing, and store management strategies
- Skilled in merchandising, pricing strategies, and inventory control (purchasing)
- Experience with POS systems, cashiering, cash handling, and bookkeeping software
- Ability to recruit, interview, train & develop staff effectively (training & development)
- Strong organizational skills with time management expertise
- Budgeting experience with a focus on financial planning for retail operations
- Customer service orientation with a focus on enhancing shopper experience
- Administrative experience including recordkeeping and report generation
- Math skills necessary for pricing calculations and financial analysis
- Leadership qualities that foster team collaboration and motivate staff

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
