Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented professional to perform stripping and waxing of retail floors. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of flooring surfaces to ensure a safe, attractive shopping environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with floor maintenance, hand tools, and related construction skills, contributing to the overall aesthetic and safety standards of our retail spaces.
Responsibilities
- Prepare floors by removing existing wax and debris using appropriate stripping techniques and tools
- Apply wax coatings evenly to achieve a smooth, glossy finish on retail floors
- Operate hand tools safely and efficiently during floor maintenance procedures
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies
- Maintain equipment used for stripping and waxing, including cleaning and minor repairs as needed
- Assist with other handyman tasks such as tile laying, caulking, or minor carpentry repairs to support overall store maintenance
- Read and interpret blueprints or floor plans when necessary for flooring installation or repair projects
Experience
- Prior experience in flooring maintenance, including stripping, waxing, or polishing retail or commercial floors preferred
- Knowledge of hand tools, construction techniques, and flooring installation processes beneficial
- Familiarity with tile laying, carpentry, caulking, and blueprint reading is a plus
- Previous handyman experience demonstrating versatility in building or repair tasks is advantageous
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail and safety standards is essential
Pay: $20.00-$26.00 per hour
