We are Tofino’s newest restaurant, located at Pacific Sands Resort, and we’re building an energetic, passionate team from the ground up. Opened June 1, we are looking for someone to jump on the team and work alongside the General Manager.
Our menu is rooted in coastal comfort food, with a focus on wood-fired cooking, fresh seafood, seasonal vegetables, and handmade pasta. It’s inspired by favourite meals discovered through travel and shaped by years spent working in hospitality.

Position Overview
The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the daily operation of Saltrose, leading service, developing the team, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. This role is highly hands-on, spending most shifts on the floor coaching staff, supporting service, and maintaining operational standards. Common responsibilities for assistant restaurant managers include supervising daily operations, scheduling staff, handling guest concerns, training employees, managing inventory, and supporting financial controls.T
Key Responsibilities
- Lead front-of-house service shifts
- Act as manager-on-duty in the absence of ownership
- Train, coach, and support FOH team members
- Assist with hiring and onboarding
- Handle guest feedback and resolve service issues
- Ensure food safety, liquor service, and workplace safety standards are maintained
- Assist with ordering, inventory counts, and cost control
- Support event execution and special dinners
- Complete opening and closing procedures
- Work closely with kitchen leadership to maintain smooth service flow
Qualifications
- Strong service and hospitality mindset
- Experience leading teams in fast-paced environments
- POS experience (Toast preferred)
- BC Serving It Right certification
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Experience:
- sous chef or equivalent: 2 years (required)
