3R’s Construction & Renovation Ltd. provides general construction services, bathroom renovation, general home renovation, new construction, deck installs, electrical roughing and finishing in the Barrhead, Alberta area.
We are currently looking to fill two (2) carpenter positions/ Exterior finisher.These positions will also require some experience in installation and roofing. Both are permanent and full-time positions based in Barrhead, Alberta.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Reading blueprints/work order specifications and preparing layouts in conformance with applicable building codes
- Installing, repairing and servicing interior and exterior prefabricated products
- Measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Fitting and installing trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware
- Building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring and erecting walls and roof systems
- Installation of various exterior siding products
- Installing, repairing or replacing roofing systems using various materials
- Installing metal flashings and applying waterproof coatings to various surfaces
- Supervising apprentices and other construction workers as applicable
Qualifications and Education required:
- 2-3 years of work experience in carpentry and/or general construction
- Trade certificate in carpentry or general building construction, or other equivalent education
- Ability to communicate in English
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Mechanical skills
- Problem solving skills
- Time management skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Physical strength and stamina
- Able to work well with others in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license or means of transportation to project sites as required
