Trunk Sewer Inspection Team Member
Andrews.engineer (A.E) is a consulting civil engineering company exclusively focused on Sewer Asset Management. We are first and foremost sewer experts. Founded in 1993, A.E has extensive experience and involvement in all stages of sewer asset management. The company first led the introduction of specialized inspection and evaluation techniques for assessing ‘live’ trunk sewers, manholes and specialty chambers, without diversion or by‐pass pumping. A.E now manages sewer remediation projects in a way that minimizes our clients’ resource requirements and manages related customer relationships/impacts professionally and effectively. A.E has expert teams for the following areas: program management, sewer inspection, data management, rehabilitation design, and rehabilitation contract management. A.E has extensive experience effectively managing and coordinating large teams with multiple contractors.
A.E is currently seeking a member for our Trunk Sewer Inspection Team. This member will work daily on a 3-man team operating a support vehicle assisting in the inspection of small to large diameter trunk sewers, performing confined space entries daily, in live flow conditions, utilizing CCTV, Sonar and LiDAR on tractor or floating rigs in urban and remote environments. The ideal candidate will be able to take direction and make technical decisions under pressure in stressful environments while still holding paramount safety and attention to detail.
The successful candidate will be involved in the following tasks:
· Safely operate vehicles with a GVWR >4,500kg in accordance with CVOR, MTO and other provincial requirements.
· Ability to complete NASSCO pipeline inspections
· Complete MH inspections and provide site recon updates for project managers
· Plan, set up, manage and remove traffic control equipment in accordance with OTM Book 7.
· Perform daily inventory and inspection of CCTV equipment, cable drums, wheel sets, camera heads, tools and safety gear to ensure quality assurance.
· Read project sheets and perform project safety site inspections.
· Perform Confined Space entry and rescue duties to assemble and disassemble inspection equipment in live sewer conditions.
· Read, interpret and augment maps with notes.
· Complete field level hazard assessments and other H&S related forms for each site.
· Travel to other cities/areas, work in a variety of settings and worksite conditions.
· Work evenings, weekends and out-of-town for two-week periods.
· Depending on workload out-of-town work may be very frequent following a schedule of 2weeks out-of-town, 1 week in GTA, 2weeks out-of-town
· Work 10-12hr shifts. ( Day or Night shifts depending on work location)
· Operate a computer.
· Other duties as required.
Required Qualifications
· Full, Clean Class G License Required
Required Skills
· NASSCO Certified in PACP preferred.
· Experience with CTSpec an asset
· Min. 5yrs sewer inspection experience preferred
· Previous Confined Space training and experience an asset.
· Previous Working at Heights training and experience an asset.
· Previous First-aid or advanced medical training an asset.
· Comfortable entering manholes/chambers in excess of 20m in depth
· Strong practical, mechanical and technical skills.
· Self-organizing and able to multi-task.
· Experience dealing directly with clients.
· Strong oral and written communication skills.
· Able to work independently and as part of a team
· Physically fit
· Able to work in adverse weather conditions
· Able to perform in stressful environments
