Structured Cabling Technician

We are currently seeking both Lead/foreman (Journeyman) technicians and Junior (apprentice) technicians.
Positions available for individuals without related experience but whom would be interested in learning skills for the DataComm industry, as well as for persons with existing experience.
Expected abilities for inexperienced candidates:
- Physically fit and capable to work in a commercial construction environment
- Attention to detail and the ability to take direction and learn new skills
- Ability to maintain detailed site documentation
- Ability to comply with specified policies and procedures for both company and customer
- Comfortable working within a detailed orientated position
- Ability to work at heights
- Ability to work in the city of Edmonton as well as on out of town projects
- Must have valid drivers license and clean security check
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $17.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected abilities for experienced candidates:
- Working with copper (UTP,Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a) and fiber optic cabling and industry standards
- Ability to install cable, terminate jack modules and install face plates
- Attention to detail and understanding of how to comb and dress bundles to company standards
- Working with Fluke Networks tester equipment and understanding how to read copper and fiber results
- Certified in Belden, CommScope and/or Panduit is an asset
- Ability to maintain detailed site documentation
- Ability to comply with specified policies and procedures for both company and customer
- Comfortable working within a detailed orientated position
- Experience in telephony, security and audio visual is an asset
- Ability to read blue prints/As-Builts
- Ability to work at heights
- Ability to work in the city of Edmonton as well as on out of town projects
- Must have valid drivers license and clean security check
