Job Overview
ROW is seeking enthusiastic and experienced Part-Time Competitive Swim Coaches to join our coaching staff. Reporting to the Head Coach, the successful candidate(s) will plan and deliver training programs aligned with Swimming Canada's athlete development model, supporting our swimmers as they pursue their goals both in and out of the pool. We coach young athletes across a range of competitive levels from learn to swim to National and International calibre, and we welcome applicants with interest in working with any of them.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct appropriate training sessions under the direction of the Lead Pathway / Group Coach
- Attend, supervise, and support swimmers at competitive events, both home and away
- Attend and contribute to regular coaches meetings
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating training environment that encourages athlete growth and retention
- Communicate professionally and constructively with swimmers, parents, and fellow staff
- Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility
- Maintain coaching certification and registration in good standing with Swim Ontario
- Abide by the Swim Ontario Coaches' Code of Conduct and Ethics
Qualifications
- NCCP certification appropriate to the coaching level (minimum Fundamentals Coach; Age Group Coach or higher considered an asset depending on the level coached)
- Current Safe Sport certification, including NCCP Make Ethical Decisions (MED) training
- Completed Respect in Sport training
- Successful Vulnerable Sector / background check
- Demonstrated knowledge of the technical and training aspects of competitive swimming
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a coaching team
- Current Standard First Aid / CPR and National Lifeguard certification considered an asset
- Familiarity with Club Management software & Swimming Canada online systems considered an asset
- Valid drivers licence is an asset.

- Status: Part-time
- Location: Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario (multiple ROW facilities)
- Compensation:
- Hourly and Part-time contract opportunities starting at $21/hr for certified coaches ($19 for those in-progress towards certification).
- Pay scale commensurate with commitment, experience, and qualifications
- Start Date: late August, 2026
- Closing Date: June 30, 2026
