Custom Mechanical Ltd is recruiting for a Refrigeration and Gas Service Installation Technician.
Our company serves a customer base throughout the area including Renfrew through Pembroke, Petawawa, Arnprior and the Deep River corridor.

This position has a regular 40-hour work week with overtime paid after 44 hours. The candidate will provide regular, on-call emergency after hours service (on rotation). Extra remuneration is paid during on-call periods.

Refrigeration and Gas Service/Installation Technician bearing a combination of certifications and professional experience as noted below:
Key Responsibilities
- Understanding the installation of new HVAC and Refrigeration Systems, maintenance and repairs.
- Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC and Refrigeration Systems.
- Complying with company service standards, work & on-site instructions in addition to customers’ requirements or special requests.
- Communicating effectively and professionally with customers to maintain a strong & continued working relationship.
- Servicing and troubleshooting a variety of HVAC related equipment: Chillers, cooling towers, roof top units, split systems, boilers, makeup air systems, and computer room A/C and Geo-thermal etc.
- Planning and performing preventative maintenance to HVACR equipment and systems.
- Identifying issues with HVAC equipment and systems, presenting issues that might cause future technical issues & producing recommendations for solutions that may be quoted to the client to ensure continued working relationship with both long standing & new clients to generate work for the company.
- Installation and commissioning of HVACR equipment and systems.
- Strict adherance to technical standards & safety protocols on job sites in compliance with CSA & TSSA standards.
- Complete timesheet & work order ducments with detailed & accurate account of all work completed / submit on a timely basis.
Qualifications:
- Certified minimum G-1 gas fitter (preferred) or certified G-2 gas fitter willing to upgrade to G-1 status.
- Must carry the refrigeration 313-A red seal certification or minimum 2nd to 3rd year apprentice working toward red seal certification. (Employer will assist to complete)
- A non-certified refrigeration technician with a minimum of 5-years’ commercial refrigeration experience will be considered.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems & installation.
- Experience with refrigeration piping, construction as well as service (maintenance & break-fix trouble shooting.
- Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating and boiler systems.
- Ability to work independently with a strong attention to detail, task follow-through to 100% completion, safely & without hazard to themselves or others is essential.
- Normal 40-hour work week with overtime paid after 44 hours. Regular on-call emergency after hours service (on rotation). Extra remuneration paid during on-call periods.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to represent the employer in a professional manner to co-workers, customers & potential customers, suppliers, sub-contractors and other project collaborators.
- Valid Ontario driver's license required as well as an incident free abstract. (To be provided by applicant prior to in-person interview)
- An incident free police criminal record check is required. (To be provided by applicant prior to in-person interview)
- Candidate to present permanent address (or future permanent address). (Relates to efficiency of providing immediate on call emergency service.)
