Overview
Oversee a crew and run all 3 Axis CNC machines in Winston Park (plus Bavius and Vortex), and all Manual Mill Machines. Inspect parts for quality, prepare required tools, fixtures and test equipment and test for performance. Candidate must be well organized, self-disciplined with strong time management skills, proficient with interpreting drawings and technical documentation. Proficient in CNC set up for 3 axis milling machines. Please note there is a $2 Lead Hand Premium.
Responsibilities
- Follow quality management system policies and procedures as per AS 9100 International Standard
- Instruct and train all employees
- Instruct all employees in the reporting of accidents, incidents and damage to tools or company owned property
- Assist in organize shift activities and staff to perform as a team in an efficient manner
- Ensure all employees produce the highest quality product in an efficient manner
- Ensure all reporting is as per the instructions provided (production hours, downtime, attendance, damage reporting, daily shift activity reports)
- Ensure the production department and exterior are clean, safe and in an organized manner at all times.
- Reports all accidents or incidents to the Manager.
- Participate in employee suggestion programs and meetings as required.
- Motivate all employees to work efficiently while producing quality products
- Recommends or initiates staff actions such as promotions, transfers, discharges and disciplinary measures to the Supervisor.
- Administer activities such as vacation planning, shift schedules, and employee training files.
- Ensure that employees work in compliance to OHSA.
- Organize production activities to optimize equipment usage, staff efficiency, and staffing levels while reducing downtime.
- Develop and maintain safety and production policies and procedures and work instructions for new processes
- Coordinate all production activities with the Production Scheduling to meet customer delivery requirements
- Develop manufacturing strategies to plan and program machining sub-components in the most effective process.
- Create setup and supporting documentation to adequately instruct manufacturing personnel on the loading and execution of automated manufacturing methods.
- Organize and plan work effectively as per job requirements and schedule constraints
- Troubleshoot machining results with production personnel to optimize manufacturing process
- Responsible for CNC programming data control as defined by company’s structure
- CNC Program validation using various methods.
- Review and optimize existing programs for efficiency improvements
- Create, modify and optimize post processors as required.
- Assist 1st off prove outs process in collaboration with production
- Assist in problem solving and continuous improvement activities
- Able to lead the project from start to finish. Programs, tool lists, work instructions, set-up books and proper filing upon completion of jobs
Experience
- High School Diploma
- Supervisory and Management Skill (is a must)
- Must be hands on and willing to work with little or no supervision
- Strong leadership abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills and strategic planning capabilities
- Five (10) years in Manufacturing Industry
- Ability to perform under pressure and work independently
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines as required
- Skilled in the use of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, and Visual Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
- Skilled in setting priorities that move projects through efficiently to achieve customer and quality objectives
- Ability to ensure quality standards are met
- Ability to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
- Ability to use reasoning skills that minimize duplication of efforts, including but not limited to comparing, classifying, analyzing and coordinating
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Create, modify and optimize post processors as required.
- Comfortable to work with large size components
- Proven ability to consistently run good parts that meet production standards
- Strong skills and aptitude in math
- Ability to perform advanced functions with MS Windows-based computer operating systems
- Completion of Machine Proficiency test during interview process
- Highly organized with a keen eye for details,
