Job Summary
The AZ Flatbed Driver, under the direction of the Logistics Department, will primarily be responsible for safely delivering product to our customers in a friendly and courteous manner. This position requires high standards of customer service and efficiency. Flexibility of shift is essential and regular overnight runs are required based on routing needs.
Job Duties
- Safe operation of equipment at all times;
- Courteous and positive communication with customers and job site personnel;
- Unloading product at customer job sites using a truck-mounted forklift;
- Strap loads in accordance with load requirements and check load securement on an ongoing basis throughout the day;
- Pick up product from vendors;
- Picking up coils from steel mills and outside storage locations;
- Transferring product between Agway locations;
- Maintain both electronic and paper logs;
- Perform daily pre-use inspections on all equipment;
- Wear the company uniform and represent the company in a positive fashion;
- Perform overnight runs as required;
- Safely operate lifting devices such as truck-mounted forklifts;
- Maintain regular communication with logistics personnel;
- Other duties as assigned.
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
Minimum 3 years of AZ flatbed driving experience;
- Valid AZ driver's license in good standing, with a clean driver's abstract;
- Willingness to deliver throughout Ontario;
Experience operating a Moffett / truck‑mounted forklift (strong asset);
- Willingness to complete in-house certification for truck-mounted forklift operation;
- Proven experience delivering to construction sites (asset);
- Demonstrated ability to operate material-handling equipment safely and efficiently;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively;
Clear English communication; French is an asset
- Excellent attention to detail and time management abilities;
- Commitment to health and safety practices;
- Demonstrates honesty, cooperation, and a team-oriented mindset.
Work Conditions
- This position operates a day cab; occasional overnight trips may require hotel accommodations.
- Use of required personal protective equipment;
- Operation of necessary tools, machinery, and equipment;
- Extended periods of sitting and other physically demanding conditions;
- Lifting, moving, or handling objects up to 25 kg;
- Regular Ontario deliveries, typically operating Monday-Friday;
- Occasional Quebec and Maritime routes (with notice), typically operating Monday-Friday but some East Coast routes may require alternate schedules;
- Well-maintained fleet with dedicated trucks;
- Overtime follows ESA regulations for the driver’s province of residence;
- Meal coverage during overnight trips, fuel cards, company cell phone and tablet for electronic logs.
