Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and creative Cake Decorator/Baker to join our bakery team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and cake decorating, with the ability to craft visually stunning and delicious cakes for various occasions. This role requires attention to detail, food safety knowledge, and excellent customer service skills to ensure our customers receive high-quality products and a positive experience.
Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of cakes, pastries, and baked goods according to recipes and customer specifications
- Decorate cakes with intricate designs, fondant, icing, and other decorative elements to meet customer expectations
- Ensure all baked goods are presented attractively and meet quality standards before sale or delivery
- Handle food preparation tasks including mixing, measuring, and assembling ingredients in accordance with food safety guidelines
- Package finished products securely for retail display or customer pick-up
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery workspace in compliance with food handling and safety regulations
- Assist customers with selections, answer questions about products, and provide excellent customer service
Skills
- Proven experience in cake decorating and baking, with a strong portfolio of decorated cakes preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking, and baking processes within a food industry environment
- Familiarity with food handling safety standards and proper sanitation practices
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent attention to detail for decorating intricate designs and ensuring product quality
- Strong customer service skills to create a welcoming atmosphere for clients
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced bakery setting while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
- Experience with packaging baked goods for retail or special orders is a plus
