Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster developmental growth. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, supporting children’s social and emotional development, and collaborating with families and staff to ensure a positive educational experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement creative lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and learning.
- Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through engaging activities.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to promote a collaborative educational atmosphere.
- Maintain accurate records of children’s progress and daily activities.
- Manage classroom behavior using positive guidance techniques.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of children, including those with disabilities or special needs.
- Incorporate bilingual instruction when applicable to support language development in English and French-speaking children.
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping, lesson planning, and communication purposes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and licensing requirements at all times.
Skills
- Proficiency in English; bilingual skills in French are highly desirable.
- Strong background in childcare, early childhood education, or related fields.
- Experience working with children, including those with disabilities or special needs.
- Excellent communication skills—verbal and written—to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members.
- Strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities and documentation efficiently.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership in guiding children’s behavior and supporting team collaboration.
- Effective time management skills to balance lesson planning, classroom activities, and administrative tasks.
- Computer literacy for operating educational software, maintaining records, and communicating electronically.
- Classroom experience that showcases the ability to create engaging learning experiences tailored to young learners’ developmental stages.
