Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated, reliable, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Midnight Shift Supervisor. This is a straight midnight position, ideal for a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and is committed to maintaining safety, quality, and team performance during overnight operations.
Please note that this role is paid on an hourly basis. The annual salary listed reflects an estimated starting range and will be determined based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe, clean, organized working environment is maintained throughout the plant and outside areas
- Foster an environment of Safety, Teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, processes, and shop rules
- Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to the production team
- Perform daily walkabouts and effectively communicate job status to the next shift
- Accountable for shift quality, cost, and delivery targets
- Perform layered audits, safety inspections, and participate in corrective actions
- Ensure all parts are produced to customer specifications, minimizing scrap and ensuring containment and NC procedures are properly followed
- Work closely with Quality and Set Up Technicians to ensure product conformance
- Schedule and assign work to ensure production requirements are met
- Provide resources and guidance to complete chip inspection processes for valve housing automotive parts
- Track efficiency and productivity, review results, and communicate feedback effectively
- Ensure all necessary documentation is available at the work center (count sheets, QC inspection reports, traveler, 5S, etc.)
- Coordinate delivery/removal of raw materials, packaging, and skids at the work center
- Maintain discipline and control in the shop
- Support training and development of new and existing employees
- Communicate and document events with other Shift Supervisors and the Operations Manager
- Assist with material handling duties as required
- Other duties as assigned by management
Experience
- Minimum college diploma; completion of an apprenticeship or technical diploma preferred
- Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory experience required
- Forklift operator’s license and/or experience is required
- Experience in a machine shop environment and with CNC transfer machines is an asset
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, with a working knowledge of GD&T
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently
- Motivated self-starter with a “can-do” attitude
- Ability to use basic measuring equipment (micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, etc.)
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- A quick learner with the ability to be trained
Requirements
- The successful candidate must hold a valid Class G driver’s licence and will be required to complete a criminal background check as a condition of employment.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $75,000.00-$81,000.00 per year
