Patan Heating & Air Ltd. is a growing HVAC and mechanical contractor serving Penticton and the South Okanagan. We specialize in residential and commercial HVAC systems, including high-efficiency and Net Zero mechanical installations.
We are currently seeking an experienced Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be experienced in fabrication and installation, capable of working independently, and committed to producing high-quality workmanship in a professional environment.
This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of residential and commercial projects alongside an experienced and supportive team.
Position Responsibilities
- Fabrication, layout, assembly, and installation of sheet metal systems
- Installation of residential and commercial HVAC systems including ductwork, ventilation systems, exhaust systems, and related components
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, and specifications
- Conducting accurate field measurements and coordinating installations accordingly
- Coordinating and ordering custom fittings and fabricated components as required
- Maintaining organized and professional job sites
- Communicating effectively with office staff, suppliers, project managers, and customers
- Utilizing company software and technology for scheduling, job notes, timesheets, and project documentation
- Providing administrative support required to assist in the successful completion of projects, including job documentation, material tracking, and communication updates
- Working collaboratively with apprentices, refrigeration mechanics, and other team members
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with applicable codes and company standards
Qualifications
- Journeyman sheet metal experience required
- Red Seal Certification or equivalent industry experience considered a strong asset
- Strong understanding of residential and commercial HVAC systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Professional attitude with strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required
- Ability to work in crawl spaces, attics, rooftops, and active construction environments
- Personal hand tools and PPE required
Additional Qualifications Considered an Asset
- Refrigeration experience
- Gas fitting experience
- Fall Protection certification
- Aerial Work Platform certification
- Occupational First Aid certification
- Experience with high-performance or Net Zero construction

Compensation will be based on the applicant’s experience, certifications, skillset, and overall industry knowledge.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $34.00-$44.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
