Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Assistance Buddy (P.A.B) to provide exceptional care for an elderly lady in the St-Leonard area. The ideal candidate will be fluent in English or Italian and possess a genuine interest in senior care. This role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring safety, and promoting independence while delivering respectful and personalized support tailored to the individual's needs. Experience in assisted living, patient care, or nursing home environments is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide companionship to promote emotional well-being and reduce feelings of loneliness
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding if necessary
- Help with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and organizing to maintain a safe environment
- Assist with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when required
- Monitor health status, report any changes or concerns to family or healthcare professionals
- Engage in meaningful activities tailored to the elderly lady’s interests and cognitive abilities, including dementia or hospice care if applicable
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times to prevent falls or accidents
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living, senior care, hospice care, or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred
- Strong understanding of patient care, nursing practices, and medication administration
- Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills in English or Italian
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs
- Knowledge of dementia care and home care best practices is a plus
- Reliable, patient-focused, and attentive to detail in caregiving tasks
- Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism and empathy

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and attentive Caregiver / P.A.B. to support a senior woman recovering from a recent hospitalization following a fall. This is a meaningful role focused on recovery support, daily assistance, and companionship.
The client is currently mobile with a walker and is working toward regaining strength and independence. She resides in a Residence in St. Leonard, Montreal.
Responsibilities:
- Personal care assistance (washing, grooming, dressing)
- Light housekeeping:
- Making the bed
- Cleaning bathroom
- Washing dishes
- Emptying bedside commode (urine only)
- Meal preparation (breakfast)
- Medication reminders after breakfast and lunch (medications pre-set in blister packs)
- Accompanying client to lunch and daily activities within the residence
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Assisting with short walks or outdoor time when appropriate
Schedule:
Weeks 1–2:
- Full-time coverage, 7 days per week
- 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Weeks 3–4:
- Approximately 4 hours per day
- Schedule (morning or afternoon) to be confirmed based on recovery progress
Requirements:
- Experience working with seniors or in home care (P.A.B. experience preferred)
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable
- Comfortable supporting mobility with a walker
- Italian or English speaking required
