Shizuku is seeking a professional and service-driven Server to join our team. We offer an intimate omakase dining experience focused on seasonal ingredients, craftsmanship, and refined hospitality.
This role is ideal for someone who appreciates fine dining, enjoys guest interaction, and takes pride in delivering thoughtful, detail-oriented service. Your role is vital in creating memorable dining moments, ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met, and fostering guest relations that keep patrons coming back.
Duties
- Provide attentive and polished service in an intimate omakase setting
- Confidently explain dishes, ingredients, and menu/ food progression
- Maintain strong knowledge of seasonal offerings and up-selling skill
- Ensure smooth pacing and flow of each seating
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and sushi counter team, assist with food preparation, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas
- Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining high standards of food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols
- Manage booking system, POS system, such as Opentable, Lightspeed and perform basic math for billing purposes with card terminals.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous serving experience in the hospitality field (fine dining/ semi fine-dining preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Detail-oriented with high service standards
- Comfortable working in a small, refined environment
- Ability to multitask calmly under pressure, fast learner
- Good communication skills using the English language
- Knowledge and proficiency in the Japanese language is must
- Knowledge of sake or Japanese cuisine is an asset
- Smart Serve certification is required
- Able to perform standing and active service duties for full shifts (up to 8 hours).
- Flexible availability for 2–5 shifts per week, Mon–Tues and Thurs–Sat evenings (3 pm or 4:00 pm to close).
