Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) Locator

Division 26 Inc. is actively seeking an experienced HDD Locator to support our growing trenchless operations across Alberta and Western Canada. If you know how to keep a bore on line, communicate with your drill operator, and protect existing infrastructure—you’re who we want.
What You’ll Do
- Perform accurate locating and tracking of HDD drill heads using Subsite/Vermeer systems
- Maintain bore path alignment (line & grade) in accordance with engineered plans
- Interpret utility locates, drawings, and ground conditions in real-time
- Communicate continuously with the drill operator to adjust steering and avoid conflicts
- Identify and mitigate risks related to cross bores, strikes, and frac-outs
- Complete pre-job planning, FLHAs, and site hazard assessments
- Ensure compliance with client specs and regulatory requirements
- Maintain daily logs, bore reports, and as-built documentation
- Support safe execution in urban, industrial, and remote environments
What You Bring
- Proven experience as an HDD Locator (minimum 2–3 years preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of DigiTrak, Subsite, or Vermeer locating systems
- Ability to read utility drawings, one-call locates, and bore profiles
- Experience with long bores (500m+) and complex crossings is an asset
- Solid understanding of ground conditions, drilling fluids, and bore planning
- Valid driver’s license (Class 5 minimum; higher class considered an asset)
- Ability to work rotations, overtime, and travel as required

Pay: $37.00-$44.00 per hour
