Middle School Teacher (Grades 7–8)
Full-Time or Part-Time
Headwater Hills Montessori School
Where you can be who you are and become who you were meant to be.
Headwater Hills Montessori School is seeking an experienced, creative, and enthusiastic Middle School Teacher to join our collaborative and supportive school community.
This position is ideal for an educator who enjoys professional autonomy, small class sizes, outdoor education and the freedom to design engaging learning experiences. We are open to either a full-time or part-time arrangement for the right candidate.
At Headwater Hills, we believe that great teaching happens when talented educators are trusted to do their best work. Our teachers are encouraged to bring their own interests, strengths, and creativity to the classroom while fostering curiosity, critical thinking, independence, and a love of learning.
We believe that education involves the development of the whole child, and that social and emotional growth, healthy relationships, self-awareness, and character development are valued alongside academic achievement. Located on a beautiful rural campus with forests, meadows, marshland, gardens, and easy access to the Hockley Valley trail system, we value outdoor education, experiential learning, and meaningful connections with the natural world.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach across multiple subject areas and work closely with a small cohort of middle school students, fostering both academic growth and social-emotional development.

The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
- Balance firmness with warmth, positivity, and respect

- Recognize the importance of social and emotional development and support students in developing self-awareness, responsibility, resilience, and respectful communication
- Be confident, organized, and self-directed
- Enjoy creating engaging learning experiences and exploring innovative approaches to teaching
- Value student engagement and meaningful learning over simply covering content
- Appreciate the benefits of outdoor and experiential education
- Thrive in a collaborative and supportive staff culture
Most importantly, this position is best suited to an educator who is energized by professional autonomy and comfortable taking initiative in curriculum planning and program development.
While Montessori adolescent training is an asset, we welcome applications from experienced OCT-certified teachers, IB educators, Montessori Upper Elementary teachers, and other creative educators who are excited to learn and work within a Montessori environment.
