Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee daily operations in our busy seasonal restaurant located in TOBERMORY, ONTARIO. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant management, along with excellent leadership and customer service skills. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining a high level of hospitality to deliver an exceptional dining experience. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for managing food quality, controlling costs, and fostering a positive team environment to support the overall success of the establishment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure high-quality standards are maintained.
- Supervise kitchen staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating team members to promote a productive work environment.
- Manage food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations and sanitation standards.
- Coordinate food ordering, inventory management, and waste control to optimize costs and reduce waste.
- Develop menus in collaboration with culinary staff while maintaining consistency and excellence in food offerings.
- Lead by example in customer service excellence, ensuring guests receive prompt and courteous service.
- Monitor kitchen workflow to ensure efficiency during busy hours while maintaining safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in accordance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with restaurant management on staffing schedules, operational improvements, and special events.
Experience
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant management, ideally as a Kitchen Manager or similar leadership role.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling safety standards.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with team management skills including interviewing and training staff.
- Experience in hospitality environments such as hotels or bars is a plus.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations including menu development, inventory control, and cost management.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to lead a team effectively under pressure.
- Previous experience working with food safety regulations and implementing proper sanitation practices is essential. Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
