Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Part Time Bakery Assistant to join our vibrant bakery team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about baking, food preparation, and customer service. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the food industry and a desire to learn and grow within a dynamic environment. Previous experience in restaurant or commercial settings is a required, including safe food handlers certification
Duties
- Assist with baking and food preparation, including measuring ingredients and mixing batter with commerci equipment
- Package baked goods for sale or delivery, ensuring quality standards are met
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery workspace in accordance with food safety standards
- Support the team during busy periods by replenishing supplies and managing customer orders
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about baked goods and assisting with selections
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene at all times
- Help with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying management of supplies needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience in large volume baking or food service required.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques
- Experience working in a restaurant or kitchen environment.
- Strong attention to detail, especially when packaging baked goods.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude as we are also a retail location.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining quality standards
- Basic kitchen skills including cooking, food industry knowledge, and food safety practices are desirable
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work part-time hours as scheduled
