Mill Department Lead

We are seeking an experienced Mill Department Lead to oversee our CNC milling department in a fast-paced, high-output manufacturing environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for training and supervising machinists and apprentices, managing departmental throughput, planning and scheduling work, preparing tooling, programming CNC mills, and performing complex setups. The successful candidate will work closely with management on production planning, process improvement, and estimating support.
Responsibilities
- Lead, train, mentor, and supervise machinists, apprentices, and operators.
- Own departmental throughput, efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Program and optimize CNC milling jobs using Mastercam.
- Perform complex machine setups and provide technical support to the team.
- Plan jobs, prepare tooling, and coordinate machine schedules.
- Support estimating by reviewing drawings, cycle times, tooling requirements, and machining strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of CNC milling experience.
- Must be fluent in Mastercam programming.
- Proven experience supervising, training, and developing machinists and apprentices.
- Strong setup, tooling, workholding, and machining knowledge.
- Ability to read complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Pay: $40.00-$55.00 per hour
