Material Handler / Shipper Receiver (Machine Shop)
Job Summary
This is a full-time, permanent position with a small-medium sized fast-paced machine shop near Pearson Airport. Aerial Industries has been in business for 25 years, completing work primarily for the Defence, Oil and Gas, and Aerospace industries. We are constantly expanding our workforce and are looking for a Material Handler / Shipper Receiver to support production by managing incoming and outgoing materials, handling raw material and scrap movement throughout the facility, maintaining inventory accuracy, and assisting with general shop duties.

Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming raw materials, tooling, and purchased components
- Prepare and package finished products for shipment according to customer requirements
- Load and unload trucks using a forklift
- Move raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods throughout the shop
- Operate saw to cut material as required
- Maintain inventory accuracy and material traceability
- Operate and calibrate shipping scales as required
- Create shipping documentation and coordinate pickups with carriers
- Verify quantities, part numbers, certifications, and packing slips
- Assist production departments with material handling and general shop support
- Perform deburring and other general labour duties as required
- Collect, sort, and manage aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and other scrap materials generated from production
- Empty chip bins and coordinate scrap removal and recycling activities
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment to transport scrap throughout the facility
- Maintain scrap storage areas in a safe, clean, and organized manner
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a shipping, receiving, or material handling role within a manufacturing or machine shop environment
- Forklift experience required
- Experience handling raw materials such as aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and plastics
- Experience packaging precision machined components for shipment
- Ability to operate and calibrate scales and measuring equipment
- Experience handling and transporting metal scrap in a manufacturing environment is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work throughout the shift
- Familiarity with shipping carriers and shipping documentation is an asset
- Experience with inventory control systems is an asset
- Comfortable performing physically demanding work, including handling raw materials, chip bins, scrap metal, and finished products
- Strong awareness of workplace safety practices related to forklifts, material handling, and scrap management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
