We are looking for a dedicated and playful Behaviour Interventionists (BI) to work with a 5-year-old child diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in Richmond (Steveston area). Previous Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) experience is preferred but not necessary. However, we require the ideal candidate to have strong play skills.
As a BI, you will work directly one-on-one with the child under the supervision of a behaviour analyst implementing specific programs/goals as outlined in the behaviour plan of intervention. In each session, the BI will engage with the child and use particular teaching strategies to target goals, and collect and monitor data for progress review. The programs focus on speech and communication, social skills, play skills and academic skills. The behaviour analyst will provide training and supervision.
Sessions will be held in the family's home.
We are looking for the following availability:
- Monday-Friday: After school (e.g., 4:00-6:00pm)
- or Sunday mornings
Qualifications:
- 19 years or older
- Can provide a clear criminal record check
- Silly, energetic, and like working with children
- Enthusiastic with a positive attitude
- Strong play skills
- One year commitment
Rate of pay ranges from $25.00-$30.00 per hour based on experience and education.
