The eServices Project Manager oversees initiatives within the Ontario Health North regions eServices Deployment Team. The Project Manager develops strategies, budgets and operating plans enabling the successful ongoing execution of the eServices program. The Project Manager engages broadly with a variety of key partners, both within Ontario Health and across the health sector to effectively influence the adoption of digital tools.
The Project Manager is comfortable working within an ambiguous environment where change is constant and, with input from team members and subject matter experts, can effectively manage the delivery of the project(s).
Here is what you will be doing:
Manages all project stages, including scope, timeline, and costs so to achieve project objectives in accordance with business needs/expectations and to do so in a way that establishes, maintains and grows positive relationships with stakeholders, including sponsors, project team, external partners, etc.
Support team and team members to achieve success.
Actively provides coaching and mentorship to project team members in a purposeful way.
Recognizes the strengths/weaknesses of team-members as well as personal styles/needs and uses such understanding to maximize productivity.
Manages multiple interrelated projects, and takes into consideration timelines, dependencies, risks, and available resourcing; finds efficiencies, mitigates risks, and ensures success of all projects.
Assess projects in trouble, identifying issues/barriers to success at the strategic level and restructure the project so to enable achievement of business goals. This is beyond solving project level issue(s) as it involves a major adjustment in strategic direction/scope or approach at the business level.
Actively provides coaching and mentorship to project team members throughout the engagement in a purposeful way, working with resource managers as may be appropriate; provides general/ad-hoc coaching to junior department members.
Motivates the team and creates a collaborative micro-culture for the project; enables and encourages people and gain respect and trust.
Delegates work appropriately and realistically and provide the appropriate amount of support or autonomy.

Makes decisions not just considering project/short term goals and strategies, but also long-term impacts and Agency strategic goals.
Suggest strategies/means of improving performance of the projects to the sponsor for consideration/approval.

Proactively identify and manage risks, and systematically resolve or escalate known issues.
Works directly with internal and external partners to lead project planning, adoption, implementation, change management and evaluation.
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Studies, Public Administration or related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum of seven (7) years of specialized digital health related experience or health system experience
Experience leading development and implementation of innovative projects and/or virtual care models and technologies in complex clinical environments preferred
Direct experience coordinating and managing project activities, monitoring and reporting on progress, and anticipating and resolving issues, risks, and conflicts
Experience planning and facilitating large meetings
Project Management, or related professional designation is an asset
Change Management Professional designation is an asset
Superior organizational skills and capacity to think strategically and maintain a broad system view
In-depth development knowledge of local health issues, priorities and needs while recognizing the broader trends in health care policy and system development
Demonstrated understanding of current and future trends in digital health, health information management and health information technology systems
Familiarity with legislation applicable to healthcare organizations such as PHIPA is an asset
Excellent computer skills required (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint, SharePoint)

Comfortable with ambiguity, demonstrating the capacity to work independently and with minimal direction
Able to work effectively with a diverse group of clinical and non-clinical partners in diverse organizations
Can prioritize and effectively anticipate and respond/escalate risks and issues as they arise
Demonstrated ability to manage complex IT projects under challenging circumstances
