Our Human Resources team is looking for a Sr. Human Resources Generalist at our Headquarters located in London, Ontario. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources Canada, t he Sr. Human Resources Generalist is responsible for aligning Canadian retail business objectives with employee programs established for North America.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
- Build relationships of trust and respect across the team to facilitate effective coaching and guidance on leading through change, talent moves and selection, and overall HR support on all employee matters.
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to managers (e.g., coaching, career development, employee relations, including disciplinary actions in partnership with the business).
- Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, people programs, and policies specific to business unit needs.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements both Canadian federal and provincial, related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
- Work closely with management and employees to improve working relationships, build morale, increase performance, retention, and the overall employee experience.
- Collaborate with Global HR partners on corporate program rollouts to ensure compliance with Canadian federal and provincial laws as well as impact on Canadian retail business.
- Work with employees and managers on daily transactional needs to help enhance the employee experience.
- Update and ensure accuracy of employee information in Workday (HRIS).
YOU ARE
- Known for integrity with ability to maintain confidentiality and manage highly sensitive information and situations.
- Knowledgeable in Canadian Employment Law, Provincial Employment Standards, Ministry of Labour Regulations, and Canadian Human Rights.
- Strategic with a good professional presence and ability to work with all levels.
- Highly motivated, self-starter, and resourceful requiring little direction.
- Effective in communicating, orally and in writing, in one-on-one situations and in small and large group presentations.
- Able to travel to the US for retail leadership meetings and to stores throughout Canada as required.
YOU HAVE
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and Human Resources experience with demonstrated knowledge in the area of client relation management within the Canadian retail landscape.
- Bachelor’s Degree specializing in Human Resources, Social Sciences, or related field.
- CHRP designation is an asset
- Exceptional business partnership skills, including leadership coaching, talent development, excellent facilitator, and employee experience focus.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office-Excel, Word, PowerPoint, HRIS Systems (Workday is an asset).
- Ability to negotiate and influence within a collaborative framework.
- Experience in a retail environment is an asset.
Salary Range
$72,000-82,000 annually
*Salary decisions are determined by multiple factors, including a candidate’s capabilities and skills, current market rate for the position, years of experience, and internal equity.
