Who We Are
The Renovators of Canada (T-ROC) are a growing GTA renovation company built on a simple promise: deliver an exceptional renovation experience from the first conversation to the final walkthrough. We take quality, communication, cleanliness, and the client relationship seriously — and we look out for each other while we do it. Our team is built on people who care about doing the work right and growing alongside the company.
The Role
We are looking for the kind of renovator who can frame a wall in the morning, hang and finish drywall in the afternoon, set tile the next day, and trim out a bathroom by Friday. Not a wood specialist. Not a handyman. A true multi-trade tradesperson who can be dropped on a renovation and get it done right the first time.
You'll work on residential renovations across the GTA — kitchens, bathrooms, basements, full home renos. On smaller jobs you'll work solo and own the result. On bigger jobs you'll lead one or two helpers and set the pace. You'll report to a Site Supervisor and work closely with our Lead Project Manager.
If you take pride in the work you leave behind and people in the trades have always known you as the one who can do "all of it" — this is your role.
What You'll Actually Do
- Execute renovation work from rough to finish: framing, drywall, taping/mudding, tile, finish carpentry, doors, trim, basic plumbing rough-ins, basic electrical rough-ins (under licensed supervision where required)
- Read plans and project scopes, sequence the work, get it done without hand-holding
- Run small jobs solo from start to finish; lead one or two helpers on larger projects
- Maintain T-ROC quality standards on every job — straight lines, tight joints, clean job sites
- Track your time, materials, and receipts daily in Contractor Foreman
- Keep clients informed of progress when on site; escalate questions about scope, design, or change orders to the Site Supervisor
- Identify and address deficiencies in your own work before they become rework
- Maintain WSIB and work safe practices at all times
- Take care of your tools, the company's tools, and the client's home
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of hands-on residential renovation experience across multiple trades — not just carpentry
- Genuinely multi-trade: comfortable with framing, drywall, tile, finish carpentry, and basic plumbing/electrical rough-in work
- Able to run a small project solo from start to finish without supervision
- Owns a full set of hand tools and most cordless power tools
- Strong attention to detail and quality — you fix it before the client sees it
- Reliable, punctual, and communicative — show up when you say you will
- Valid Ontario driver's license and reliable vehicle
- Comfortable using a phone/tablet for daily logs, photos, and time tracking (we use Contractor Foreman)
- Takes pride in workmanship and treats every home like it's your own
Nice to Have
- Red Seal Carpenter certification or equivalent trade qualification
- Working at Heights, WHMIS, First Aid / CPR
- Specific kitchen, bath, or basement renovation experience
- Experience leading small crews
What We Offer
- $36 – $45/hour, based on experience (paid bi-weekly, deposit Thursdays)
- Holiday and vacation pay added to each cheque
- Vacation entitlement: 2 weeks (1–5 years of service), 4 weeks (5+ years)
- Health benefits available after 90-day probation — premiums split 50/50 with T-ROC
- Steady year-round work — no chasing jobs, no quiet weeks
- A clear path forward — strong performers grow into Site Supervisor and beyond
- A team that respects the trades and the people who do the work
- Office base in Markham, projects across the GTA
Don't Apply If
- You only do wood — finish carpentry, millwork, or trim work alone
- You're looking for handyman-style 2-hour service calls
- You need someone holding your hand on a job site
Pay: $36.00-$45.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
