Key Responsibilities
As the Senior Architect, you will lead the design and delivery of complex building projects from initial concept through to construction completion, ensuring high-quality outcomes, strong coordination, and alignment with client objectives.
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead architectural projects from initiation through design development, construction documentation, and contract administration.
- Oversee project schedules, deliverables, and coordination to ensure timely and successful completion of design milestones.
- Provide thoughtful, innovative design solutions.
Technical Design & Documentation
- Produce and review detailed contract documents, specifications, and construction drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of building codes and regulatory requirements to ensure compliant and constructible design solutions.
- Coordinate envelope design and technical detailing to meet performance, durability, and compliance standards.
Interdisciplinary Coordination
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams throughout all project phases.
- Ensure design intent is consistently maintained across all disciplines through clear communication and coordination.
- Review drawings and documentation for quality, consistency, and technical alignment across project teams.
Mentorship & Team Development
- Provide guidance and mentorship when needed.
- Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages learning, accountability, and design excellence.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Manage internal client relationships and maintain strong communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Translate client needs into effective design solutions.
- Participate in discussions with stakeholders to ensure project success.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Registered Architect in a Canadian jurisdiction is required.
- Minimum of 8 years of post-registration experience in architectural design and contract administration.
- Proven experience leading multiple projects through full design and construction phases.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Revit is required.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Lumion, and Photoshop is considered an asset.
- Advanced understanding of building codes, construction detailing, and envelope design principles.
- Excellent English communication skills is required.
- Proficient working knowledge in French is considered an asset.
