Slitting Operator – Blown Film / Flexible Packaging

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Slitting Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating slitting machines used to convert blown plastic film into finished rolls according to customer specifications while maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate slitting machines for blown film and flexible packaging products.
- Read and interpret production orders and specifications.
- Load jumbo rolls onto the slitting machine using appropriate material handling equipment.
- Adjust machine settings to achieve the required roll width, tension, and winding quality.
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed during production.
- Inspect finished rolls for quality, dimensions, and defects.
- Label, package, and prepare finished products for shipment or the next production stage.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
- Report equipment issues or production concerns to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating slitting machines in a blown film or flexible packaging manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with polyethylene (PE) films is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read production work orders and use measuring tools accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when required.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- Day, Afternoon, or Night shifts (based on production requirements)
- Overtime may be required.

Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
