Location: 19067 94 Avenue, Surrey, BC
Time: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm with occasional Saturday shift
Compensation: Local 115 Mechanic wage: $46.09 per hour
Responsibilities:
The 421A or 310T License Mechanic – will be responsible for electrical diagnostic work, vehicle, truck and equipment repairs within our BC division.
- Observe and follow all necessary safety regulations when operating any machinery, equipment, and tools
- Diagnose and repair vehicles accurately and within a reasonable time frame, with a high quality of work
- Diagnose and repair equipment/vehicles including Heavy Trucks, Diesel Engine Fuel Systems,
- Use electrical diagnostic tools to find short circuits and open circuits in chassis wiring harness
- Perform step-by-step diagnostics and repair using Cummins INSITE, Navistar NED and Eaton Roadranger
- Perform Caterpillar truck electronic and electrical diagnostic and repair
- Remain up to date on the most current on highway heavy diesel technology
- Perform additional responsibilities as required to by Senior Management
Requirements:
- 310T or 421A license is required
- Class 3 license with clean driver’s abstract is required
- Required to be a member of Local 115
- Previous experience in electrical, hydraulics, and general truck repairs
- Ability to trouble shoot, diagnose, and repair equipment on own
- Punctual, willing to learn and works well with others
- Experienced and fully competent in using Cummins INSITE to diagnose and verify repairs on Cummins engines and Diesel Engine aftertreatment diagnostic and repair
- Experience using Eaton Roadranger to diagnose and repair drivetrain issues.
- Ability to use electrical diagnostic tools to find short circuits and open circuits in wiring harnesses.
- Must be able to read and understand heavy truck circuit wiring diagrams
- Able to work independently or with minimal supervision
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience performing maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, experience with vacuum trucks is an asset
- Must be able to provide their own basic work tools, while task-specific tools will be supplied
- Literate and able to communicate effectively in English and able to read drawings, equipment manuals, etc.
- Comfortable with going on project job sites
- Able to work on occasional Saturdays and evenings as and when required
- Proven track record and take pride knowing the job is well done
