Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Aides (HCA) to join our team in the Spruce Grove area. This vital role involves providing personalized care and support to individuals in their homes or assisted living facilities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others, especially seniors and individuals with disabilities, and possess experience in various aspects of patient care. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Provide medication administration following prescribed schedules and safety protocols
- Support patients with meal preparation and feeding as needed
- Help with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
- Monitor health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals or family members
- Assist with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Offer companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Support clients with specialized needs such as dementia care, hospice care, or working with individuals with disabilities
- Follow care plans accurately and document services provided
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, home care, or hospice care is preferred
- Knowledge of patient care, senior care, dementia care, and caregiving best practices
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required
- Strong communication skills and compassionate nature
- Ability to work independently while following established care plans
- Certification or training in medication administration is a plus but not mandatory
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is advantageous
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license are preferred for home visits
