Our Vancouver-based client is embarking on an exciting global finance transformation and is seeking a Finance Systems Functional Analyst to play a key role in a large-scale reporting and systems implementation. This is a six-month contract opportunity with a strong likelihood of permanent conversion for the successful candidate. You'll join a collaborative finance systems team supporting the rollout of a modern financial consolidation and reporting platform, while partnering closely with Finance, FP& A, and IT stakeholders across the organization. This role combines finance, systems, reporting, and data analysis, with opportunities to contribute to future enhancements and ongoing transformation initiatives.
Support the implementation and rollout of OneStream.
Maintain and support finance applications and reporting processes.
Write and analyze SQL queries to validate data and troubleshoot issues.
Support integrations between ERP, finance, and reporting systems.
Perform data reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
Gather business requirements and translate them into functional solutions.
Participate in testing, UAT, and system upgrades.
Support critical financial reporting delivered to senior leadership.
Contribute to future Finance and FP& A system initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a Functional Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or similar role with working knowledge of basic accounting concepts. You also have the following key criteria for the job:
3+ years of accounting experience combined with 1–3 years of technical experience, such as SQL, VBA, scripting, or similar tools.
Experience as a Functional Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Finance Systems Analyst, or similar role.
Strong SQL skills for querying, troubleshooting, and data analysis, with the ability to understand and modify existing queries.
Experience supporting system integrations and data flows.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and data reconciliation processes.
Experience reconciling data across multiple systems and investigating discrepancies.
Understanding of multidimensional data structures, including cubes, dimensions, and hierarchies.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with Finance, FP& A, IT, and business stakeholders.
