- Read and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications
- Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as MIG, TIG and Flux-Core
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
- Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines
- Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers
- Welders may specialize in certain types of welding such as custom fabrication, pressure vessel welding, pipeline construction welding or machinery and equipment repair welding
- Previous fitting experience
Specialized Skill Required:
- Experience in pressure vessel and TIG (aluminum and stainless steel)
- Pipe fitting/welding
- All position Tig Welding
Work Experience Required:
- Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience in a pressure vessel or custom manufacturing shop
Minimum Education Required:
- Completion of high school required
