JOB DESCRIPTION
An Apprentice Automotive Mechanic is a skilled member of the Service Department who reports to the Service Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
An Apprentice Automotive Mechanic is responsible for performing the following duties:
- Diagnose and repair passenger vehicles and light trucks through the disassembly of faulty assemblies.
- Repair or replace worn or damaged parts.
- Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications and tune-ups.
- Ensure all equipment used in the Service Department is in good repair.
- Keep his/her work area clean and organized.
The Employee’s productivity will be monitored. Employees will be expected to perform in accordance with industry standards, as well as standards specific to Done-Rite Tire & Auto.
The hours in the Service Department are 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
REQUIREMENTS
In order to be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Automotive experience
- A valid Ontario Driver’s License
- A full suite of tools, including all tools that would be necessary to complete jobs that are assigned to him/her on a daily basis.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
