Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Event Setup & Takedown Staff and/or Event Setup & Takedown Staff Supervisor/Manager. Both roles are physically demanding and requires active, energetic individuals who are comfortable being on their feet and moving continuously throughout the shift.
Part time or Full time roles: Event Setup & Takedown Staff
Full time role: Event Setup & Takedown Staff Supervisor/Manager
The Supervisor/Manager role is expected to oversee the execution of event installations and breakdowns. This role requires someone with hands-on experience in the event industry who can confidently lead a team, problem-solve on-site, and ensure efficient and timely execution of event setups and takedowns.
Key Responsibilities:
- A valid BC License is mandatory and you must be able to drive a vehicle
- Must be able to carry at least 50lbs of items
- Fluent in English and Excellent English communication skills is required – Indicates a high level of proficiency in speaking, understanding, and communicating effectively.
- Lead and manage a team of setup crew members, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Oversee the installation and breakdown of event décor, furniture, florals, and other setup elements according to event plans and layouts.
- Coordinate logistics with vendors, venues, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Troubleshoot on-site challenges and make real-time decisions to adapt to unexpected issues.
- Ensure all setup and takedown processes adhere to safety regulations and best practices.
- Maintain inventory control and ensure all items are accounted for post-event.
- Train and mentor team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Communicate effectively with clients, event planners, and other stakeholders to ensure their vision is executed seamlessly.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in the event industry (e.g., event production/set up/take down, construction, florals, décor or related fields).
- Leadership experience with the ability to direct, motivate, and manage a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, work on ladders, and handle physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to follow and execute event plans accurately.
- Flexible schedule – must be available to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation is a plus.
