What You’ll Do
The General Labourer supports safe, reliable plant operations by performing hands on production, material handling, and housekeeping tasks across the facility. Working within a 24/7 continuous shift environment, this role contributes to smooth product flow, equipment uptime, and overall plant cleanliness.
- Operate basic plant equipment such as conveyors, elevator systems, baggers, scales, and lift trucks
- Perform general clean up using brooms, shovels, vacuums, and other housekeeping tools
- Support material movement, loading, stacking, and packaging activities
- Assist with routine service labour including clearing blockages and staging materials
- Maintain safe work areas and follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements
- Identify and report equipment issues or unsafe conditions
- Perform moderate to heavy physical labour in varying environmental conditions
What You'll Need
To be successful in this position, you must:
- Possess an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Hold valid Lift Truck Certification and/or have demonstrated lift truck operating experience
- Be able to work safely in a physically demanding, fast paced manufacturing environment
- Demonstrate reliability and the ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime in a 24/7 operation
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members and report issues promptly
- Bring prior manufacturing or industrial experience (considered an asset, not required)
