Peninsula Imports is seeking an experienced part-time bookkeeper. The candidate must be energetic, hardworking, organized, reliable, and responsible. This position will require a candidate who has the ability to multi-task, take on multiple projects and thrive in a high-pressure atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable
- Accounts Payable
- Specialized bookkeeping for US and Canadian accounts involving managing and filing sales tax (VAT/GST/HST/U.S State Tax, etc)
- Maintain current A/R accounts - Investigate, adjust and resolve any outstanding balances
- Process & post payments received by cheque, credit card and e-transfer
- Weekly bank / credit card reconciliation and analysis of accounts and variances
- Prepare financial statements
- Liaise with our accountant in the preparation of government returns and remittances and payments
- Investigate all discrepancies with invoice totals and work with the company to clean up accounts
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system and perform related clerical duties
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient in QuickBooks, Excel & Microsoft Word
- Resolving of account related issues
- Strong accounting skills
Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
