NON-UNION Avid Media Composer Video Editor (Evening/Night/Weekend Shifts)
We are a Toronto production company who produces award-winning television. We are seeking to expand our successful team for the new 13-episode season of our established scripted comedy TV series.
The series is unique in that it combines pre-shot ENG/reality-style footage with scripted content, and the editing room is where the show is made. It requires creative editors who understand how to shape footage to make the story sing.
MUST BE:
- Non-Union
- Ontario resident
- Canadian citizen
- Available to work evening/night shifts and weekends
- Experienced with Avid Media Composer
Qualifications:
- Keen eye for storytelling
- Confident working individually and with guidance/top level direction from showrunner
- Experience editing in PC version of Avid Media Composer
- Strong at both creative and technical aspects of editing
Responsibilities involve but not limited to:
- Review, break down, and organize footage
- Make written edit decision lists and write paper edits
- Dissect and package both reality/documentary style and scripted footage
- Arc a story and pace a 30 min comedy
- Creative and technical editing in Avid Media Composer for broadcast
- Working with 4K and 1080 video footage
- Finalizing show ready for traffic
Assets:
- Strong sense of comedic timing
- Knowledgeable in graphics, colour correction, audio mixing in Avid
- Strong interest for the entertainment industry
Starts immediately. Rate based on experience.
